General TV Channel / Radiotelevisão Cabo-verdeana (RTC) was founded in May 1997 on the proposal of the then Minister of Social Communication, José António dos Reis. It was born from the merger of the defunct Rádio Nacional de Cabo Verde (RNCV) and Television Nacional de Cabo Verde (TNCV).
RTC is the second largest media group in Cape Verde, owning a television channel (TCV) and a radio station (RCV). It has its headquarters in the city of Praia, branches in São Vicente, Sal, São Filipe, Porto Novo and Santa Catarina. Its radio has correspondents in twenty-two municipalities in the country. It is the largest average employer in Cape Verde.

Canal da RTC – Rádio Televisão Cabo-verdiana. Gerido pela RTC Multimédia, para as plataformas digitais da RTC – Serviço público audiovisual e de rádio e televisão pública, online.
