General TV Channel / Moldova 1 is the national Moldovan television channel, operated by the national public broadcaster, TeleRadio-Moldova. The editorial independence was indisputable, being controlled by the Communists in 2005-2009. Currently the former TVM1 director has been dismissed. Freedom of opinion was assured. The Electoral Campaign for the September 5th Referendum was the first in the last 10 years to ensure impartiality and fairness.

With large enlargement plans, after gaining editorial independence, and after budget increases, Teleradio Moldova has big plans for the future. TVM2 can also be watched in DVB-T in Chisinau, MPEG4. A second channel called TV Moldova International was inaugurated on January 1, 2007 with 40% of the programs taken over from Moldova 1 internal channel. It ceased its broadcasting on 1 January 2013.

Instituția Publică Compania Teleradio-Moldova (TRM) este principala instituție publică a audiovizualului din Republica Moldova. Canalele de televiziune sunt Moldova 1 și Moldova 2, iar cele de radio sunt Radio Moldova, Radio Moldova Muzical și Radio Moldova Tineret.
