General TV Channel / barmedas.tv is a community based content service provider operating in Mwanza, Tanzania. Our function is to provide information, education, and entertainment to the Mwanza community as well as to share information about the Mwanza community with the rest of the country and the world. Our television station, barmedas.tv is owned and run by members of the Mwanza community. Community members act as planners, producers, and performers.

We are a social enterprise company and we strive to enhance the ability of the community to learn, dialogue, discuss, and debate. We are entirely accountable to the Mwanza community. Our goal is to interact with and educate the community in Swahili without any prejudice to color, religion, ethnic group or other distinction. We endeavor to promote our local and national interest, safety, community cohesion, and our way of life that is uniquely Tanzanian.
