News TV Channel / CNN Prima News is a Czech news channel belonging to the FTV Prima group. On the basis of a partnership with CNN International Commercial (CNNIC), continuous Czech-language news is provided. The station started broadcasting on 3 May 2020 at 18.55. The first program was Main News moderated by Pavel Štrunec and Veronika Kubíčková.
In addition to continuous news, the station also broadcasts other programs throughout the day, seven days a week, and also provides news content to other channels and the online platform of the Prima group. It is available in terrestrial broadcasting and in the offer of cable and satellite operators throughout the territory of the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic; brings viewers both domestic and international news delivered by CNN Corporation. Its headquarters in the Prague intelligence center are equipped with very modern technical facilities. The station's studio covers almost 400 m², the space is dominated by the presenter's desk with a built-in screen. The studio is decorated in blue, red and white. It is the only one in the Czech Republic with two floors.
15 major programs are broadcast daily. Complex issues are described through the stories of ordinary people, the news is made up of a mixture of serious and light-hearted information. The station offers objective Czech news at the world level, which should be brisk, understandable and more entertaining. Thanks to the cooperation with CNN, access to foreign materials is gained, the Czech newsroom supplies information about events in the Czech Republic. As this is a commercial station, advertisements are included in the broadcast.
