General TV Channel / Guadeloupe First is a television channel public French proximity of France Televisions broadcast in the overseas department of Guadeloupe and in communities overseas of Saint-Barthélemy and Saint-Martin.

In May 1963, the French government decided to install television in Guadeloupe, Martinique and Reunion. It is planned to put into operation an RTF transmitter near Pointe-à-Pitre, which would serve 100,000 inhabitants in order to cover the most populated areas first and which could be extended later.
