Entertainment TV Channel / TV Zimbo is the first private TV station in Angola. TV Zimbo is owned by the private media publisher Medianova. TV Zimbo was founded on 14 December 2008 and started regular programming on 15 May 2009. TV Zimbo is broadcast by private subscription satellite TV broadcasters ZAP and DStv as well as by private cable provider TV Cabo Angola.
TV Zimbo is the most watched television station in Angola. With twelve years of existence, its experimental broadcasts began on December 14, 2008, under private management and broadcasting on the 45 UHF frequency, through the retransmitter located in the municipality of Viana, in the province of Luanda, and in position 5 of the network of TVCABO in Angola.
Inspired by traditional Angolan symbols, Zimbo is the name of the first currency – shells caught on the seafront – used for trade between the kingdom of Ndongo and its partners. We are an open, plural and free television, which carries the strength, identity and value of Angolan culture. We are, therefore, present in the largest distributors in the country, in HD, and with the language desired by the viewers.
